Overview
LuBite ("the App") is a calorie-tracking app by Lu Apps LLC that estimates the calories of your meals from photos. This policy explains what data the App handles and why. By using LuBite you agree to this policy.
Data we collect
Account. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive a unique identifier and, where you permit it, your name and email. Sign-in is optional until your free trial ends.
Profile. Age, sex, height, weight, activity level and goal — used to calculate your daily calorie target.
Nutrition logs. The meals you add, their calorie/macro values, and your water and weight entries.
Health & fitness (Apple Health). If you grant permission, the App reads your steps, active energy and exercise minutes to personalize your daily goal. This data is never used for advertising and is never shared.
Marketing preference. Used only if you explicitly opt in to receive campaign emails.
Photos are never stored
When you photograph a meal or ingredients, the image is sent through our secure backend to an AI service (Anthropic Claude) for analysis and is then immediately discarded. Photos are never stored on your device or our servers — only the resulting nutrition values are saved.
How we use data
To provide calorie tracking, calculate your goal, produce statistics, deliver reminders you enabled, process subscriptions, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers
We rely on a few processors strictly to run the App: Supabase (authentication & database), Anthropic (Claude) (photo analysis, images processed without being stored), and Apple & Google (Sign in with Apple / Google and, via Apple, subscription payments).
Data retention & deletion
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account. Deletion immediately and irreversibly removes your account and associated data; for Sign in with Apple, your Apple token is also revoked.
Local data
The App also stores your logs locally on your device. Removing the App removes this local copy.
Children
LuBite is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You may access, correct, export or delete your data. Use in-app account deletion or contact us.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
